What an incredibly difficult year for so many people all over the world.
This Thanksgiving weekend, our family has been reflecting on the plenty of things we have to be extra thankful for this year. I’m thankful first and foremost for our family’s health and beautiful views like this one.
Due to a variety of reasons, we ordered Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered this year so I’m especially thankful for food delivery during a pandemic. In fact, I used some of my free time from not cooking to reflect on history. Unfortunately the history behind this holiday is tragic and retold inaccurately. I hope you’re also able to take some time and read about how Thanksgiving began and how it has impacted Indigenous people over the centuries.
Even though I’d like to petition to change the meaning and date of Thanksgiving, there are traditions I really appreciate and hope we can keep: enjoying a delicious meal with family and friends while reflecting on what we’re most grateful for in our lives.
