Fall day trip from Chicago: Apple Picking & More

Over the weekend we visited a farm with an apple orchard, 10 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, hay ride, farm animals, kids’ play areas, and more. This was the ultimate fall family outing outside of Chicago. The entire family had a great time and we didn’t want to leave. Except we had to get home for dinner and bed.

Fall is my favorite season and I love having a festive farm to visit and celebrate all things autumn. First we started with apple picking. My one year old quickly caught on to what we were doing and ran around yelling “apple”. He started by picking up apples from the ground, but we showed him how to pick them from the trees and he loved it. I was laughing so hard while trying to capture photos of him.

Thank you, Keller’s Farmstand, for a really fun Sunday afternoon with the family! For families in the Chicago area, the Oswego Farmstand (2500 Johnson Rd) is the only Keller Farmstand with an apple orchard. If you’re in a different city and looking for a similar farm, I discovered Keller’s Farmstand from a local parent group on Facebook.
