Happy Bastille Day (Bonne Fête Nationale)!

To all my French friends and family: bonne Fête Nationale!

We celebrated the French Revolution and the storming of The Bastille in 1789 by dressing in blue, white, and red and attending a fun event at the Sofitel in Washington, D.C.

The hotel, owned by a French company, had a fun afternoon planned with delicious food. They had a family-friendly picnic spread and activities.

How was your Sunday?

Usually our family attends a free event for French citizens and their plus ones at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. However, we have discovered that it’s really difficult and tiring to attend crowded, evening events with a very active toddler.
