Since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted to spend a night in a treehouse, but I still have yet to try it …
For a little honeymoon, my husband and I booked a treehouse owned by a Relais & Châteaux, Château de Valmer. Relais & Châteaux is an association of over 500 hotels worldwide. Each hotel must go through a rigorous application process, with a focus on excellent service and food. To learn more about the process, read this interesting article from Forbes.
After carrying our luggage up to the tree house, we realized we were too exhausted to sleep in a tiny room that was swaying in the breeze. Even though I’ve slept very well on a boat many times before, I wasn’t in the mood for “glamping” that night. So we carried our luggage back to the hotel and stayed in a hotel room. But how charming is this corner in the treehouse?
I see how staying in a treehouse could be a lot of fun, especially without kids. Or I might consider this experience with kids if I could send my kid(s) to sleep in the tree.
